The final event of Houston Music Festival’s inaugural season will take place on Sunday, November 3rd at Smither Park’s first-Sunday vendor market. This performance will be a celebration of Houston, and the many different communities that call this city home.
An immersive concert weaving together poetry and storytelling with chamber music and improvisation, featuring original poetry by Outspoken Bean.
World premieres by emerging composers Ben Morris and Marco-Adrián Ramos along with new poetry by Justin Jannise, as well as Marcus Karl Maroney’s Piano Trio.
A live performance of improvised variations on a series of classical and jazz themes, while wearing an EEG cap to measure brain activity, at the Museum of Contemporary Art of Monterrey, Mexico.
3 week session for high school aged pianists, hosted at Kinder High School for the Performing and Visual Arts (HSPVA)

Children of all ages interactively explore the fabric of the negro spiritual in its evolution from slavery thru today.
Join educator and vocalist Dr. Jolie Rocke & pianist Chelsea de Souza in exploring hidden messages in both quilts and songs of freedom for African Americans. Participants will create a quilt square collage that will be assembled and hung and learn about negro spirituals and their impact through current day.
